We travelled up to the refined, elegant surroundings of Eynsham Hall in Oxfordshire – 11 miles from Oxford itself – on an autumnal day in late 2016 to cover Anna & Daniil’s wedding. Set in a sprawling country estate, Eynsham Hall is a grand hotel these days but began life in the 18th century as Georgian manor house.
The happy couple celebrated their cultural roots by incorporating various traditional Russian elements into their day. Following their vows the couple and their guests participated in a bread and salt ceremony, a very old Russian custom which originated as a way of greeting guests. It was really interesting to document, as we’d both heard about this tradition but had never witnessed it in person. We absolutely loved the colourful handmade matryoshka nesting dolls that were a part of the table decorations at the reception!
The floral arrangements and details by local florist Alison Davies were bursting with juicy berry tones that perfectly complimented the relaxed and fun atmosphere of the day and helped to banish the autumnal greyness.
It was an honour to be there for Anna & Daniil, we thoroughly enjoyed capturing all the love and emotion on their special day!
